IOSH Managing Safely in Construction

This Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) course is for managers and senior site staff to gain an understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to health and safety.

They are required to manage work on-site efficiently and effectively in compliance with both the organisations safety policy and current health and safety legislation. The course focuses on training managers and site supervisors to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues as part of a total management strategy.

This course can be provided in-house at an organisations own premises.

Content

The course covers relevant legislation, risk assessments, controlling risks, accident/incident investigation, understanding responsibilities and measuring performance.

Candidates will undertake both practical and written assessments during the course, after which they have two weeks to complete and submit an assignment (within the workplace). 

Successful candidates will be awarded the nationally recognised 'Managing Safely in Construction certificate' issued by IOSH.

Duration

Four days, on a day release format.
