Who is it for?
Individuals who as part of their role will be required to take air samples from asbestos contaminated environments and conduct the 4 stage clearance procedure.
Aims
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge
in the techniques of air sampling and clearance
testing along with the provisions for required
for certification for reoccupation.
Course Content
This 'P' module provides theoretical and
practical knowledge in the techniques of air
sampling and analysis of results to enable 4
stage clearance certificates to be issued. The
module is at a proficiency level which aims to
provide the candidate with the practical
knowledge and skills to be able to carry out the
stated work and includes the following
elements:
Regulations;
Method Statements / Plans of Work;
Air Sampling for Asbestos;
Enclosure and Clearance Air Monitoring;
Practical Work;
Safety Aspects;
Air Sampling;
Clearance Testing;
Role Plays.
Assessment
Individuals will undertake a practical assessment carried out by an independent assessor. As part of this, candidates must demonstrate their ability to correctly take air samples (personal and static) and perform
clearance tests. Examination A 30 question multi-choice exam
paper (45mins) will be undertaken on the final day of the course. In addition, a practical assessment will be undertaken on a one to one basis with the examiner. This exam will be independently invigilated by BOHS and is
subject to a separate BOHS exam fee.
